Know Your Numbers

As a Cost Specialist, you'll need to demonstrate your expertise in budgeting and cost control. Brush up on key metrics and be ready to discuss how you've managed budgets in previous roles. Prepare specific examples of how you’ve handled cost forecasting and change management.

Understand the Project Lifecycle

Familiarise yourself with the full project lifecycle, especially in complex engineering or nuclear environments. Be prepared to talk about your experience across different stages of projects and how you’ve contributed to successful outcomes, particularly in relation to EVM reporting and financial performance analysis.

Engage with Stakeholders

This role involves liaising with clients and project teams, so show your interpersonal skills during the interview. Prepare to share examples of how you've effectively communicated with various stakeholders and how you’ve ensured alignment between finance and project teams.
