NEW Job Opportunity - Offshore Installation Manager - Based Offshore Ghana. Our client is currently in search for an Offshore Installation Manager to work on a long term contract with a 28/28 rotation, based offshore in Ghana.
Contract: 12 Month rolling contract, working through Limited company.
Job Purpose
The Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) is accountable for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the FPSO. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining technical integrity with minimal environmental impact, in line with legislation, class, flag, and the Operations Management System (OMS).
- Leading and coordinating offshore operations and maintenance teams.
- Identifying and managing operational risks and ensuring proper procedures are implemented.
- Managing and coordinating the emergency response plan.
- Supporting business goals, operational targets, and budget management.
- Developing operational policies, plans, and cost-control measures.
- Building a strong work culture and providing visible leadership through clear communication and proactive engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership
- Direct and oversee operations and maintenance teams on the FPSO.
- Ensure operations are safe, efficient, and compliant with OMS.
- Address any non-compliance and support annual OMS reviews.
- Safety & Risk Management
- Drive a strong safety culture among employees and contractors.
- Ensure personnel understand their responsibilities for health, safety, emergency response, and compliance.
- Identify and manage risks in systems and tasks in line with the Jubilee Safety Case.
- Oversee engineering changes (MOC), Permit to Work system, and SIMOPS activities.
- Operational Excellence
- Support budget preparation, planning, and execution of maintenance, campaigns, or major projects.
- Ensure all activities comply with procedures, codes, and safety regulations.
- Monitor inspections, technical integrity, and facility limitations.
- Foster cooperation between departments and maintain effective reporting structures.
- People Management
- Conduct performance appraisals and identify training needs.
- Develop annual objectives for EHS, operations, maintenance, and HR.
- Ensure succession planning with HR and Operations Management.
- Maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
HSEQ & Compliance
- Comply with the EHS Code of Conduct to protect people and the environment.
- Ensure all personnel work safely and responsibly.
- Adhere to company Code of Conduct, Business Ethics policies, and mandatory training.
Education & Experience
- Engineering degree or equivalent.
- At least 15 years’ offshore oil industry experience.
- Qualified to serve as OIM.
Skills
- 10+ years’ supervisory experience in oil and gas operations (FPSO, refinery, or offshore).
- Strong knowledge of FPSO operations, class requirements, surveys, and technical integrity.
- OPITO-certified and experienced in safety management systems.
- Certified in Management of Major Emergencies.
- Strong leadership, cross-cultural, and interpersonal skills (overseas experience required).
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Skilled in contractor management and multi-disciplinary coordination.
- Ability to travel internationally and offshore.
