The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Senior Buyer to play a key role in managing procurement activities across complex projects. You will develop procurement strategies, build strong supply chain relationships, lead commercial negotiations, and ensure best value is achieved throughout the procurement process.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop project bid lists and complete supplier and subcontractor due diligence.
- Create and implement procurement strategies, identifying commercial opportunities and mitigating risks.
- Manage procurement schedules to align with project programmes.
- Lead tender processes for subcontract packages and materials.
- Assess supplier and subcontractor submissions, considering cost, quality, sustainability, and HSEQ standards.
- Lead commercial negotiations and secure the best outcomes for projects.
- Chair pre-award meetings and manage procurement governance requirements.
- Monitor supply chain performance and support project teams in resolving issues.
- Develop long-term relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.

About You
You will be an experienced Buyer or Senior Buyer with a strong background in civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure procurement.
You will have:
- Minimum 3 years’ procurement experience within construction or a related sector.
- CIPS qualification or actively working towards it.
- Experience procuring subcontract packages and construction materials.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of construction contracts and supply chain management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver against tight deadlines.
