One of our top nuclear clients are looking for a Site Manager to start ASAP. Our Client has a requirement for a Site Manager, who will be required to work on a Contract basis in Plymouth.

Role Purpose

Be able to maintain adherence to high standards of Safety, Environmental, and Quality Requirements. Demonstrate construction site management experience, preferably (but not essential) in a regulated environment such as MOD/Nuclear/Ports etc.

Job Role Responsibilities

  • To ensure the requirements of conventional Health & Safety Legislation are met by compliance with Project procedures.
  • To ensure a plan of key activities and milestones is followed, which consistently represents the programme to be achieved for the package.
  • Support the Project Manager / Package Manager in development, monitoring of progress.
  • To ensure that effective cost control and monitoring is implemented.
  • To provide regular reports on progress, for inclusion in the daily diaries and the project monthly report.
  • To ensure that the work package construction proceeds in accordance with the Project programme whilst meeting the requirements of the Project quality goals and safety case requirements.
  • To identify and manage specifically those areas that represent significant risk to the work package through proactive interface management.
  • To closely liaise with the required stakeholders to ensure all requirements are communicated and agreed.
  • Receive and distribute documents in accordance with Company & project procedures.
  • To liaise with sub-contractor and Babcock Document Control sections regarding the issue and receipt of drawings and documents.
  • Establish and maintain a tracking register of all documents and drawings and revisions on CDE.
  • To receive and issue preliminary drawings, documents and schedules to ensure that the sub-contractor/partners have up to date information for planning and construction purposes.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications

  • Be local to or within daily commuting distance of Plymouth and be available to attend site 5 days a week during construction.
  • Be available to work 07:30 -17:00 (45 hr week) during construction, with a standard 37.5 hr week outside of peak periods.
  • Be CITB SMSTS certified.
  • As a minimum, have BPSS security clearance, and be willing to obtain SC clearance.
  • Have temporary works qualification/experience at Supervisor level (ideally full TW Co-ord Qualified).
  • Desirable: Recognised Site Management qualification such as NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management or similar.
