A Senior Electrical Engineer is required for major energy transition, olefins, refinery and petrochemical projects located in both domestic and international markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and check discipline basis of design
  • Discipline Specifications
  • Data sheets
  • Input for Class 2 and 3 estimates
  • Technical bid evaluations
  • Detailed electrical drawings
  • Review engineering procedures and standards
  • Provide technical recommendations on the selection of equipment to meet Project requirements
  • Check and review vendor proposals, documentation and drawings
  • Participate in project, client and vendor meetings
  • Provide input to Construction Subcontract and evaluate bids
  • Be prepared to travel in the UK and overseas for meetings, equipment testing and site technical support as required

Typical background and experience required:

  • Must be able to demonstrate senior electrical engineer level experience through design, procurement and construction phases.
  • Have depth and breadth of experience in the design from first principles of the electrical infrastructure associated with chemical/polymer/power/industrial plant.
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge of European, American and International standards applicable to the chemical industry. This must include understanding of hazardous area requirements under DSEAR, ATEX, IEC 60079, API RP 500 & 505 and IP Part 15.
  • Ability to apply in-depth skills and broad knowledge to address complex problems and nonstandard situations.
  • Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
  • Capable of explaining difficult concepts and able to persuade others to adopt a point of view.
  • Provides motivation, leadership, mentoring and guidance to others.
  • Manages own time and time of others to meet objectives; forecasts and plans resource requirements.
  • Chartered engineer or demonstrated that they are in the final stages of gaining Chartership.
