  • Role Purpose
  • We are seeking an experienced Logistics Project Manager to take responsibility for all construction delivery operations undertaken across a major programme.

This is a pivotal role requiring strong leadership, stakeholder management and logistics expertise to ensure seamless coordination across multiple work locations, supply chain partners and project stakeholders.

  • You will lead, plan, organise and oversee logistics operations, acting as the key point of contact between Partners, the Client team, Operations, Engineering, third parties and Tier 1 suppliers.

The role covers numerous internal and external locations, including compounds, delivery marshalling zones and off-site logistics centres.

  • Job Role Responsibilities
  • Developing, maintaining and owning the project Logistics Strategy in accordance with Employer Requirements and company procedures.
  • Representing the programme at logistics meetings with strategic partners and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinating logistics centres, suppliers and partners to ensure all booking systems and site deliveries meet project requirements.
  • Managing logistics planning activities across suppliers, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with central logistics teams to ensure a consistent approach to project delivery.
  • Developing, implementing and managing material deliveries, workface distribution processes and waste management activities.
  • Coordinating logistics compounds, marshalling zones, laydown areas and waste collection points with construction teams.
  • Implementing and maintaining effective Waste Management and Temporary Traffic Management processes.
  • Coordinating all Temporary Traffic Management activities across the project.
  • Providing logistics guidance and support to subcontractors and delivery partners.
  • Producing logistics performance reports, workforce forecasts, dashboards and progress updates.
  • Leading the planning, coordination and delivery of all logistics requirements across the programme.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for logistics and waste management operations.
  • Managing material movement processes, including booking, tracking and coordination of horizontal and vertical movements across work sites.
  • Overseeing on‑site logistics teams, site access and egress controls, and associated plant operations.
  • Liaising with the client regarding welfare facilities and workforce forecasting requirements.
  • Promoting best practice, safety initiatives and a positive health and safety culture across all delivery activities.
  • Establishing clear objectives and ensuring resources are effectively deployed to achieve project milestones.
  • Working closely with Permit and Temporary Works teams to ensure operations align with programme requirements.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications – Essential

  • Recent experience in a similar Operational Project Manager or Logistics Management role within a large-scale infrastructure project environment.
  • Proven ability to lead, organise and manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience managing Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 contractors and suppliers.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively within fast‑paced and complex project environments.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • A proactive, self‑on approach with a positive attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements and best practice implementation.
  • Previous experience working within an airport environment.
  • Experience delivering projects within live operational environments.
  • Health & Safety qualifications and/or relevant safety training.
