One of our top clients is looking for an Electrical Inspector to work on a 12 month contract in Carlisle or Wiltshire. Our Client has a requirement for an Electrical Inspector, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Carlisle or Wiltshire.
Role Purpose
The QA/QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all solar project construction activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role involves inspecting materials, workmanship, and processes to ensure quality and safety throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections of solar panel installations, mounting structures, cabling, and electrical systems.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Verify that materials and equipment delivered to the site meet project requirements.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and quality records.
- Ensure proper documentation of test results, calibration certificates, and inspection checklists.
- Assist in the preparation of final quality dossiers and handover documentation.
- Preparation of ITPs and its implementation.
- Witness, verify & record electrical and mechanical testing (e.g., insulation resistance, continuity, perform torque checks).
- Coordinate with third-party testing agencies and ensure compliance with testing protocols.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, IEC standards, and local regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Liaise with construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Participate in quality meetings and toolbox talks to promote a culture of quality and safety.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 3-5 years of QA/QC experience in solar or renewable energy projects.
- Familiarity with solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and related components.
- Knowledge of quality standards (ISO, IEC, NEC) and inspection techniques.
- Proficient in MS Office and quality management software (training will be provided for Plan Radar).

- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Level 3(2382-22) & Level 3(2391-52) will be an advantage.
