New Job Opportunity - Buyer - Initial 12 Month PAYE Contract - London. Our Client has a requirement for a Buyer who will be required to work on a Contract basis in Victoria, London.
Contract Length: Initially 12 Months
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Hybrid: 8 days working from home per month
Role Overview: Our client requires a Buyer to coordinate multi-discipline activities and inputs throughout the full procurement cycle—from developing enquiry documents, through bid evaluation, pre-award negotiations, contract preparation, implementation, and amendments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and properly follow all our client’s procurement procedures and policies.
- Perform due diligence on contractors and liaise with the Vendor Management department to support the vendor qualification process.
- Liaise with Requesting Units at our client’s UK branch to prepare and develop appropriate contractual strategies and documentation for tender negotiation processes.
- Commercially evaluate bids and coordinate technical evaluations of tenders.
- Assist in assessing the impact of contract exceptions to produce recommendations for contract awards in line with agreed schedules.
- Participate in internal and external meetings to resolve areas of contractual and commercial conflict.
- Assist in negotiating terms and conditions, determining the extent of risks and liabilities involved, and clearly summarising such risks to support management decisions, in liaison with our client’s Legal team.
- Advise on the interpretation of contract terms during contract execution.
- Liaise with external contractors to maintain awareness of market conditions and ensure effective service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with company and legislative procedures, directives, and standards throughout all activities.
- Implement any other reasonable request from the Procurement Coordinator and Procurement Manager.
- Ensure adherence to the company’s Health, Safety & Environment policies, procedures and standards.
- Fully comply with our client’s Code of Ethics and Compliance Model.
- Ensure proper archiving and traceability of documentation in line with company procedures.
Candidate Qualifications & Experience:
- Detailed working knowledge of SAP, e-tendering systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas industry, Engineering services, or General Services is preferred.
- Contracts and purchasing experience, including proven negotiation skills and demonstrated experience in conducting contract evaluations.
