New Job Opportunity - Mechanical & Piping Supervisor - 8 Month PAYE Contract - Humber, Immingham

Location: Humber, Immingham

Contract: Initially 8 months PAYE

Requirements: full-time on-site Monday to Friday (40 hours a week)

Basic Function: Accountable for providing discipline leadership in the field, ensuring the safe installation and commissioning of relevant equipment in line with approved designs, project schedules, and operational standards.

Primary Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure contractor compliance with all site safety requirements and standards.
  • Complete weekly Level 1 safety audits and Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) observations.
  • Act as the first point of contact for contractor safety issues and work collaboratively with the Phillips 66 safety team to resolve concerns.
  • Review and approve permit documentation submitted by contractors.
  • Ensure contractor daywork sheets and contract variation submissions are received in a timely manner; review and challenge where necessary before approval within the SI system.
  • Carry out job stepping activities based on design drawings and provide feedback to schedulers.
  • Review execution plans to ensure all activities are captured and sequenced appropriately.
  • Monitor field progress by reviewing contractor updates and ensuring schedules accurately reflect site status.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the project scope to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design requirements.
  • Support development of execution plans, including enabling activities such as scaffolding and access requirements.
  • Identify and resolve field conflicts efficiently to minimise delays.
  • Manage technical queries within the system and resolve minor issues directly in the field where appropriate.
  • Conduct Pre-Start-Up Safety Review (PSSR) checks.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and QA/QC requirements.
  • Verify work areas are left in a safe and operational condition for handover to Operations.
  • Provide specialist support roles where applicable (e.g. Authorised Person duties).
  • Provide commissioning support following project completion.
  • Support turnaround activities covering both project and maintenance scopes.

Critical Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Strong construction supervision experience within industrial or refinery environments.
  • Proven experience supervising contractor workforces and managing site activities.
  • Discipline-specific technical expertise (E&I / Piping / Civil / Structural).
  • Good understanding of planning and scheduling processes.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and site safety procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good general administration and reporting capability.
  • Computer literate with experience using project and permit systems.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Qualified trade background relevant to the discipline.
  • Valid CCNSG Safety Passport.
  • LATS and/or IOSH Managing Safely certification.
