Role Purpose
You will be analysing the best locations to place electric vehicle public chargers within local authorities. This involves reviewing over 50 datasets to identify optimal sites and providing quantitative data and maps to be used in tenders. You will work with the Sales and Bids team to showcase the data and capabilities of the organisation. Additionally, you will engage with local authorities and external stakeholders to present our results and methodologies, while supporting the delivery team in pre-construction activities related to site selection.
Accountabilities
You will be responsible for analysing and selecting the best locations for electric vehicle public chargers within local authorities and assisting with the early-stage design of electric car charging sites. Your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Site selection analysis
- Pre-design configuration checks
- Analysis of charger performance
- Ensuring that all activities and operations comply with relevant regulations and laws
- Performing audits and surveillance duties on sites operated by partners and sub-contractors
- Managing external relationships with external suppliers and sub-contractors, ensuring high-quality output and value for money
- Estimating costs of overheads, materials, labour, and equipment for use in tenders
- Working closely with the Sales and Commercial teams to advise and assist in considering and putting tender bids together
Personal Qualities and Experience
Essential:
- 3-5 years of GIS experience or similar (we have in-house GIS software)
- Exceptional PC skills
- BSc in STEM, Geography, or IT
- Good knowledge and experience of Spatial Databases
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to managing work in progress
- Able to manage multiple projects (with competing time and resource challenges) from initial concept through to final delivery
- Able to work collaboratively across diverse teams with a strong focus on delivering results with quality and creativity
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with individuals, clients, and sub-contractors across multiple geographical locations
- Adapts positively to changing business demands
- A self-starter with good organisational skills and the ability to manage conflicting deadlines
- Good stakeholder management skills, with experience of setting, measuring, and delivering goals
- Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events
- A driving licence and willingness to travel
