We have an exciting opportunity for two Agents to join a major site-based infrastructure project in the Southwest, where we are acting as a delivery partner on a key UK project. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to one of the most complex and challenging construction programmes in the UK, with responsibility for overseeing construction activities at site level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management in a client-facing role, demonstrating a positive culture and promoting key values around Safety and Quality.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities, including chairing regular coordination meetings with staff and subcontractors.
  • Report to Senior Leadership Teams across various project organisational teams and functions.
  • Coordinate and liaise with relevant site teams and cross-functional departments to enable delivery of works.
  • Identify opportunities and risks in conjunction with site teams and maintain the Risk Register alongside relevant project functions.
  • Scrutinise drawings and technical documentation.
  • Provide intelligent oversight of works and site activities, raising relevant documentation where required, including TQ's, RFI's, NCR's.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policy, and best practice throughout the construction and commissioning process.
  • Ensure site activities comply with all relevant standards and arrangements, including site rules and emergency procedures, Safe Systems of Work (SSoW), Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), permit-to-work systems, site licence management arrangements and governance requirements.
  • Support training and development activities for subcontractors, site supervisors, site teams and workforce.
  • Undertake detailed scheduling and programming of site activities alongside subcontractors and the site team.
  • Coordinate Health & Safety meetings and site progress meetings.
  • Ensure project documentation is produced, collated, and completed for project handover.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Essential
    • Minimum 5+ years' site experience in an Agent or similar role.
    • Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and industry best practice.
    • Experience leading and managing complex projects and/or programmes within collaborative delivery environments.
    • Strong people leadership and line management capability.
    • Ability to build strong stakeholder and partner relationships to achieve successful project outcomes.
    • Flexible and adaptable approach with the ability to respond effectively to changing project demands.
    • Good IT skills, including MS Office, Scheduling software, Document Management Systems.
  • Desirable
    • Experience with BIM/Digital tools including Autodesk and/or Bentley.
    • Scheduling software experience such as Aphex, Primavera P6.
    • Knowledge of Behavioural Science / Safety practices.
    • Experience delivering complex or critical projects/contracts.
    • Strong knowledge of legislation applicable to construction in regulated environments, including HSAWA, CDM Regulations.
    • Understanding of construction contract law and NEC contracts.
    • Strong problem-solving, commercial, financial, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

  • Essential
    • Degree, HNC, or HND qualification in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).
    • Vocational training in Construction / Engineering.
    • Relevant CSCS Card.
  • Desirable
    • Chartered status with a relevant professional institution.
    • Project Management qualifications such as APM, Prince2, NEC Project Management accreditation.
    • Nuclear industry training (e.g. Triple Bar).
    • SMSTS / IOSH certification.
    • Additional site qualifications such as Appointed Person (Lifting), Confined Spaces (Medium Risk), Temporary Works Coordinator / Supervisor.
