Quantity Surveyor based in Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute QS with a strong background in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects and experience working with NEC4 contracts. You will play a key role in overseeing cost control, contract administration, and the commercial performance of complex infrastructure projects.
Role Overview: The Lead Quantity Surveyor will manage all commercial aspects of large EPC substation projects, ensuring effective contract execution and cost management from tender stage through to project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead commercial and contractual management across the full project lifecycle, including both pre- and post-contract phases
- Provide strategic input on tendering, contract selection, and budget planning with a focus on risk and contingency
- Administer lump sum EPC and NEC contracts (Options A, C, and E) in line with best practice and compliance requirements
- Oversee project cost control, cash flow forecasting, and preparation of financial reports
- Manage variations, payment applications, and change control processes
- Conduct contract risk reviews and support strong risk mitigation measures
- Ensure commercial documentation is maintained accurately and up to date
