Our Client has a requirement for an Electrical Inspector, who will be required to work on a 12 month contract basis in Reading. Monday - Friday 8 hours per day. Outside IR35 (travel and accommodation allowances available). Immediate start available. Must be able to obtain SC clearance - Sole British National due to nature of projects.

Role Purpose: Electrical Inspectors are responsible for providing independent Quality Control and weld inspection services across a range of nuclear electrical disciplines. Services are provided at vendors', potential vendors' or other participating entities' premises and locations.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.
  • Deliver independent inspection and quality control services at operating sites and vendors relating to new equipment in manufacture, fabrication and construction.
  • Review of fabrication/manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels in terms of quality plans, ITP's fabrication/manufacturing procedures, welding procedures, NDE procedures, compilation and review of LTQR's.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Have a good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection within the nuclear industry or transferable experience from another high hazard industry.
  • Be able to demonstrate a proactive, self-motivated approach to technical and non-technical work.
  • Have experience of managing a range of stakeholders and will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of influencing and negotiating, particularly in technical discussions relating to Inspection.
  • Have good technical writing and communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of the Customers quality requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in the inspection of Welded fabrications/manufactured equipment for nuclear and conventional power generation applications.
