We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join a major EPCM project based in Padeswood, Flintshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated construction professional with extensive experience delivering complex engineering and construction projects within highly regulated environments.
The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant execution of all construction activities, while driving project delivery in line with schedule, quality and HSSE expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the implementation of Company HSE policies and Construction HSE Management Plans, ensuring full contractor compliance.
- Ensure safe, structured and efficient delivery of all construction activities in line with project schedules and execution plans.
- Manage mobilisation and de-mobilisation of project resources to meet programme requirements.
- Ensure personnel competency compliance, including adherence to training and competency matrices.
- Conduct construction audits and reviews, ensuring recommendations and corrective actions are implemented.
- Ensure compliance with Management of Change (MOC) processes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and monitor contractor Quality Assurance and Inspection Plans.
- Maintain inspection, monitoring and hold points across construction activities.
- Inspect works to ensure compliance with technical drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
- Identify deficiencies, raise and close out non-conformance reports.
- Support construction planning activities and verify contractor progress reporting.
- Ensure compliance with safety legislation including permits to work, CDM Regulations, COSHH and method statement approvals.
- Implement and promote the Construction Safety Plan and an 'Incident Free' culture across the project.
- Minimum HNC in an Engineering discipline or Trade Apprenticeship with relevant technical qualifications.
- ECITB Temporary Works qualification (or equivalent).
- CSCS Gold Card (or higher) and current SMSTS certification.
- Minimum 15 years' management experience within the Engineering Construction Industry.
- Strong understanding of EPCM project delivery, construction management systems and construction procedures.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
- Demonstrable experience in a senior construction management role on complex industrial or onshore projects.
- Extensive knowledge of construction safety legislation and environmental responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently with a methodical and delivery-focused approach.
- Commitment to team development, coaching and training.
- Proven HSSE leadership on large-scale complex onshore projects.
- Strong multi-discipline and multicultural team collaboration skills.
- Understanding of integrated project delivery from construction through commissioning and handover.
- Ability to develop and implement project execution strategies aligned to challenging delivery objectives.
- Strong understanding of construction interfaces and risk mitigation across the full project lifecycle.
