A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal Safety & Risk Consultant to support major nuclear and defence programmes in Devon. This senior role involves leading nuclear safety activities across design, construction, commissioning and operational readiness within highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and assure nuclear safety case development
  • Provide Intelligent Customer oversight and technical challenge
  • Support hazard analysis, safety strategy and regulatory compliance
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders
  • Ensure risks are managed SFAIRP/ALARP
  • Mentor junior consultants and support continuous improvement

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in Safety Case development and assurance
  • Background in nuclear, defence or high-hazard sectors
  • Knowledge of ONR, DNSR and UK regulatory frameworks
  • Strong technical leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience at Senior or Principal Consultant level
  • Relevant engineering or science degree
  • Professional registration desirable
