A Senior Design Engineer is required to work for a large Nuclear company based in Derby on either an inside IR35 contract basis or a permanent staff basis. This role will be ideal for a candidate with experience in either the Nuclear sector or other highly regulated sectors such as Aerospace/ Defence.
Your Missions:
- Design components to customer spec
- Create models and drawings with CAD
- Research new ideas and methods
- Improve products and processes
- Modify designs for requirements
- Ensure safety compliance
- Find creative solutions
- Support junior team members
- Present designs to customers
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Senior Design Engineer or similar role
- Ability to work with the Mechanical Engineering Team to realize ideas
- Understanding of safety legislation
- High degree of knowledge around Design for Manufacture
- Familiarity with 3D CAD systems (Siemens NX or similar) for model and drawing creation
- Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)
- Professional qualification in an engineering related field
