About the Role
Are you fascinated by ancient technologies such as Microsoft Word 97, fax machines, and "proficient in Internet Explorer"? Do you possess the patience to sift through thousands of CVs in search of rare and valuable talent artefacts?
As a CV Archaeologist, you will venture deep into forgotten databases, abandoned job boards, and dusty recruitment archives to uncover hidden candidate treasures. Your findings will play a critical role in preserving recruitment history and identifying mythical applicants who genuinely match every requirement on a job specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Excavate candidate records from recruitment systems dating back several decades.
- Carefully brush away layers of irrelevant buzzwords to reveal genuine skills and experience.
- Decipher ancient phrases such as "works well independently" and "excellent telephone manner."
- Identify endangered species including:
- The Honest CV Writer
- The Candidate Who Read the Job Description
- The Recruiter Who Updated Their Notes
- Carbon-date employment histories where timelines appear suspiciously flexible.
- Catalogue rare findings for future generations of recruiters.
- Investigate claims of "expert-level Excel" using advanced forensic techniques.
- Produce detailed reports on emerging trends, including the mysterious rise of "Chief Ninja Rockstar Gurus."
Essential Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm when reviewing a 14-page CV with no employment dates.
- Experience translating corporate jargon into human language.
- Strong analytical skills and a healthy sense of humour.
- Comfortable working with relics from LinkedIn, Indeed, CV Library and forgotten network drives.
Desirable Skills
- Qualification in Palaeolithic Recruitment Studies.
- Previous experience discovering candidates who were "immediately available" and actually were.
- Ability to identify AI-generated CVs by scent alone.
- Membership of the Institute of Advanced Talent Excavation.
