Our client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their Nuclear & Power team in Derby. Candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance and be a sole British national.
In this role, you'll support the delivery of major engineering projects, working either as part of project teams or embedded within client programmes. Responsibilities will include:
- Developing manufacturing methods
- Reviewing designs for manufacturability
- Conducting PFMEA activities
- Providing technical input throughout the full project lifecycle
Working closely with clients and stakeholders, you'll help define requirements, develop engineering solutions, and support project delivery through risk management, change control, forecasting and progress reporting. You'll also contribute to quality assurance activities and the sharing of engineering best practices across the business.
You will need to have:
- A strong foundation in Manufacturing Engineering and a track record of delivering technical solutions
- A responsible attitude towards safety and security
- Experience of technical engineering in a manufacturing discipline, with acceptable performance producing key technical documentation
- Comfort in working in new and changing environments, with a desire to be challenged and contribute to the success of the business
- Ability to liaise with and influence stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally
- A proven track record of working effectively as part of a project team
- Experience supporting Quality Assurance processes through review or checking colleagues' work and presenting findings/work to clients
- Experience throughout the complete project lifecycle
- Direct experience of applying a range of engineering principles and skills to deliver successful project outcomes, with specific examples of working on technical challenges and direct accountability for quality and technical performance of engineering projects
You will be able to demonstrate the following:
- UK minimum HND/foundation degree qualification or another national equivalent
- Understanding of general manufacturing processes (machining, welding, NDE, fitting, etc.)
- Experience of manufacturing systems (CAPP, SAP, CAD, CAM, etc.)
The following additional requirements are desirable:
- UK IEng (Incorporated Engineer) or CEng (Chartered Engineer) or other national equivalent
- Nuclear sector experience
