A leading UK energy and process sector operator is looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join its Cheshire-based processing facility. Working within the Operations & Maintenance team, you will carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance, prepare mechanical isolations and safe systems of work, support fault finding and plant reliability, and supervise specialist contractors on site. The role also involves testing, inspections, CMMS updates, emergency response duties, and participation in an on-call rota.
Key Requirements
- Time-served Mechanical apprenticeship
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Strong hands-on mechanical maintenance experience within process plant environments
- Ideally 5+ years within oil & gas, chemical, COMAH, or similar industries
- Experience with permits, isolations, and fault finding on operational plant
- Strong HSE awareness and ability to work independently
- Must live in Cheshire or surrounding area (within 30 minutes of the site).
Desirable
- HNC Mechanical Engineering
- IOSH or NEBOSH
- Maximo or other CMMS experience
- Appointed/Authorised Person experience
