Help Shape the Future of High-Regulated Systems – Expert Senior EC&I Engineer Needed!

Our Client has a requirement for a Senior EC&I Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Warrington.

Role Purpose:

  • Support the discipline Lead Engineer by providing technical delivery of schedule items.
  • Provide relevant engineering underpinning through collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team and wider industry stakeholders.
  • Oversee the translation of complex user requirements into fully engineered, safe, and legal design solutions.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Deriving high-level engineering solutions through structured optioneering processes and the down-selection of instrumentation/remote handling systems.
  • Developing engineering specifications, including structured requirements management and validation.
  • Determining data requirements for tracking and records management capabilities in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Defining critical interfaces between Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) systems.
  • Producing comprehensive design drawings and documentation at all applicable stages of the gated design process.
  • Engaging other disciplines and stakeholders at key lifecycle points while maintaining awareness of project management fundamentals.
  • Ensuring all deliverables are completed in line with rigorous checking and approval processes.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Related engineering discipline (Electrical & Electronic / Controls & Instruments). Degree qualification and Professional Registration (IET, IoP, InstMC) are highly desirable.
  • Significant demonstrable experience in EC&I project delivery within highly regulated industries (e.g., Nuclear).
  • Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory environments, including the Nuclear Installations Act, HASAWA, EWR, and IRR.
  • Experience in process instrumentation systems and determining solutions for data management capabilities prior to IT/OT delivery.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work individually or as part of an integrated delivery team under restrictive time constraints.
  • Experience with nuclear encapsulation, functional safety (TUV), BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition), AutoCAD 2D, and specific gated process training (Design Change Awareness/Checking & Approvals).
