We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team on-site in Chelmsford. You will play a key role in ensuring the financial and commercial success of a 400kV substation project delivered under NEC 4 Option C.
This is a great opportunity to work on a major infrastructure project, driving cost control, contract management, and commercial performance.
- Control project costs and ensure delivery within budget
- Prepare cost forecasts and identify risks/opportunities
- Manage subcontractor and supplier payments
- Contract Administration
- Administer NEC 4 Option C contract
- Manage Compensation Events and variations
- Maintain accurate commercial records with the Project Manager
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks
- Produce CVRs, forecasts, and financial reports
- Present cost and risk updates to stakeholders
- Work with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Support procurement and subcontractor selection
Requirements:
- QS experience on large infrastructure projects
- Strong commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Proficient in CEMAR and MS Excel
- Power/substation project experience
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
