Senior Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor

We are recruiting on behalf of a growing engineering services business seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join its Central Commercial Team in Burton upon Trent.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to take a key role in driving commercial performance across a diverse portfolio of M&E projects, working closely with operational, finance and leadership teams from tender stage through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Support contract reviews, negotiations and documentation in line with governance requirements
- Manage contract terms, obligations, bonds and warranties
- Provide commercial input throughout tendering and bidding, including risk assessment
- Prepare and issue subcontract orders and ensure compliance with project requirements
- Support project teams with Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), cost control and profit improvement
- Manage variations, claims and final accounts to maximise commercial outcomes
- Monitor work in progress, debt levels and overall commercial performance
- Support the resolution of contractual issues and disputes
- Mentor and develop operational teams, promoting strong commercial awareness and best practice
About You
We are looking for an established Quantity Surveyor with:
- Minimum 5 years' experience within the M&E sector
- Strong contract negotiation, risk management and commercial delivery experience
- Strong financial and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proven negotiation and leadership abilities
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across teams
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Full UK driving licence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Professional membership of a relevant institution desirable
