Brand New Opportunity for a Principle Primary HV Plant Design Engineer! Principal Primary Design Engineer Location : Flexible across the UK Hours : 37.5 per week on a contract basis – 7.5 per day Start date : As soon as possible Rate : Day rate DOE inside IR35 Contract Role We are seeking a Principal Primary HV Plant Design Engineer to join our Power T&D division. You will lead HV Primary Engineering design for substation projects up to 400kV and support the Design Delivery Managers in overseeing engineering teams. Key Responsibilities: Lead design team to meet customer requirements, ensuring compliance with standards. Approve design deliverables such as single line diagrams, layouts, and earthing calculations. Ensure designs adhere to Health & Safety regulations (CDM). Oversee technical direction and best practices for the engineering team. Support in the day-to-day running of design departments and manage team development. Experience: Over 10 years in a design office environment, with senior-level experience in HV substation design. Knowledge of electrical power systems and HV substation equipment (e.g., transformers). TP137 / SR188 Contractor Design Assurance Engineer experience is a plus.
