First Quality Foods is a well-established food business based in Yate. We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper and Administrator to join our Operations team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience managing day-to-day financial operations and be confident using Sage accounting software. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall operations management of the business.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
- Process accounts payable transactions
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Manage invoices, payments, and expense tracking
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting
- Maintain and update the general ledger
- Handle payroll processing
- Liaise with external accountants
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Various Administrative tasks as required
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
- Strong proficiency in Sage accounting software
- Solid understanding of VAT and financial regulations
- Experience with accounts payable and receivable processes
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- Excellent communication skills
- AAT qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience working with small to medium-sized businesses
- Familiarity with payroll systems
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
