Overview

First Point Group has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Director with a track record of selling to merchants (retail / hospitality / corporate) in relation to Payment Solutions from a PSP (Payment Service Provider) / ISV (Independent Software Vendor) or APM (Alternative Payments Method) background. The successful candidate must have senior-level B2B sales leadership experience in payments, fintech, or high-growth SaaS in relation to payments; a demonstrable track record of substantial revenue and client base growth; and a deep understanding of PSPs, ISVs, and APM markets.

This is an Individual Contributor role for a hunter that can generate new business; prior experience of New Logo wins within the retail and/or hospitality sector is essential for success.

The Mission

The Sales Director position is a pivotal role within the Senior Management Team. The role focuses on strategic leadership and is primarily responsible for generating leads, converting sales, and maximising profit margins. You will strengthen market presence, drive growth, and deliver outstanding financial returns.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and cultivate high-value relationships with merchants, customers, and stakeholders aligned with strategic business objectives.
  • Own and manage all tender processes, effectively negotiating to secure new business and retain existing clients.
  • Lead the sales process end-to-end, from lead generation to closure.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling, customised proposals that clearly articulate client-specific benefits aligned with strategic sales objectives.
  • Identify and pursue strategic opportunities to enhance profit margins and exceed targeted ROI.
  • Proactively monitor market trends, competitors, and payment industry insights.
  • Represent the company at industry events and client meetings within the UK and occasionally internationally.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to enhance brand visibility and generate qualified leads.
  • Maintain robust client relationships, ensuring solutions evolve to meet ongoing client requirements.
  • Meet defined sales targets, revenue growth, and margin improvements.
  • Utilise CRM software (e.g., Zendesk Sell) and analytics tools for sales management and effectiveness.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Senior-level B2B sales leadership in payments, fintech, or high-growth SaaS.
  • Demonstrable track record of substantial revenue and client base growth.
  • Deep understanding of PSPs, ISVs, and APM markets.
  • Ability to articulate detailed value propositions effectively.
  • Strong strategic planning and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing abilities.
  • Analytical mindset, capable of strategic sales execution.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to build a high-performing sales team.
  • ICT literate, proficient in Office 365 applications and analytical tools.
