Resource & Workforce Planning Specialist (Contract)

3 Days Per Week (Tues, Weds, Thurs) | Hybrid (mostly remote)

We are currently supporting a major UK telecommunications programme and are seeking an experienced Resource & Workforce Planning Specialist to join the Portfolio Management Office on a part-time contract basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong coordination, planning and stakeholder management skills who enjoys operating at the centre of a busy programme environment. You will play a key role in managing resource demand, contractor onboarding and workforce administration, ensuring the business has the right people in place to deliver critical infrastructure projects.

The Role

Working closely with programme managers, hiring managers, suppliers and recruitment partners, you will take ownership of resource planning and workforce management activities across a large-scale network development function.

You will coordinate the end-to-end resource lifecycle, from capturing requirements and raising purchase orders through to onboarding, systems access and offboarding.

This position would suit someone with experience in PMO, workforce planning, resource management, project coordination or programme support within telecoms, engineering, infrastructure or technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the programme Resource Board
  • Coordinate resource requests with project and programme stakeholders
  • Work closely with recruitment partners and suppliers to progress hiring requirements
  • Raise and track Statements of Work (SOWs), Purchase Orders and contractor engagement documentation
  • Monitor supplier delivery and provide performance feedback where required
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes for contractors and contingent workers
  • Manage IT account requests, amendments and terminations across multiple business systems
  • Support new starter inductions and provide first-line assistance for onboarding queries
  • Maintain accurate workforce data, reporting and resource records
  • Produce regular management information and resource reports to support decision making

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in resource management, workforce planning, PMO or project support environments
  • Experience coordinating contractors, suppliers or contingent workforce populations
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience managing onboarding, offboarding and access provisioning processes
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and prioritise competing demands
  • Strong reporting and spreadsheet skills
  • Confident working across multiple systems and processes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Telecoms, infrastructure, engineering or technology sector experience would be advantageous

What We're Looking For

  • Highly organised and process-driven
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment
  • Proactive problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong collaborator who can build effective relationships across teams
  • Able to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision
  • Contract position
  • Immediate start preferred

If you have experience in workforce planning, PMO coordination or resource management and are looking for a flexible part-time contract within a major infrastructure programme, we'd like to hear from you.
