Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Ericsson 5G Optimizer with extensive experience in 5G and LTE network performance optimization. This role requires a subject matter expert (SME) in Radio Network Planning and Optimization (NPO) with deep technical knowledge of Ericsson equipment, signaling procedures, drive test analysis, and KPI improvement strategies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with post-processing and data visualization tools and demonstrate strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform 5G/4G RAN optimization on Ericsson equipment, with focus on NSA, SA, and VoNR performance.
- Conduct in-depth call flow analysis, identifying signaling issues in both NSA and SA architectures.
- Optimize KPIs such as access success rate, throughput, drop rates, handover performance, and VoLTE metrics.
Troubleshoot and tune advanced 5G features including:
- Use drive test data (TEMS, Actix, etc.) to analyze mobility issues, overshooting cells, and coverage imbalance.
- Apply intelligent parameter changes (e.g., A5, IntraSearchRx, ThreshXHigh, etc.) to improve network behavior.
- Recommend optimization actions beyond tilt adjustments, including CRS gain tuning, footprint shaping, and reselection parameters.
- Lead small optimization teams and communicate directly with customer technical teams.
Must-Have Experience:
- 7+ years hands-on experience with Ericsson RAN equipment, including eNB/gNB integration, parameter tuning, and KPI troubleshooting.
- 3+ years direct experience working with 5G networks, including NSA and SA architectures.
- Strong command of 5G deployment options (3GPP-defined) and ENDC principles.
- Experience optimizing VoLTE, including TTI bundling, coverage/routing issues, and handovers.
- Hands-on experience with: Ericsson MCPC, TEMS Investigation / TEMS Pocket, Tableau / Power BI
Preferred Experience:
- 8+ years total NPO experience, preferably with background on Nokia RAN in addition to Ericsson.
- Familiarity with frequency bands and MFBI functionality used by AT&T and Ericsson (e.g., B12, B14, B66, N260, N261).
- Experience in vendor migration projects (e.g., from Nokia/Huawei to Ericsson).
- Working knowledge of ENDC, MCPC, multi-RAT environments, including GSM/UMTS co-existence and fallback scenarios.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with ability to solve complex RF and signaling issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to interface with customer engineering teams.
- Proven team leadership experience and ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing project demands and timelines.
