First Point Group is recruiting for a Data Systems Analyst / Data Architect on behalf of a UK charity delivering critical support services to emergency services personnel and their families. In this 100% remote contract offering an immediate start (in 2-3 weeks), it's a unique opportunity to lead a strategic data transformation project that will directly improve how vulnerable police officers, staff, and families are supported through better use of data and insight.
The successful candidate must have proven experience delivering Data Systems Transformation projects, including:
- Reviewing existing systems
- Conducting gap analysis
- Producing assessment reports
- Delivering strategic recommendations and Data Architecture designs
- Creating implementation roadmaps for handover
Experience with BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau is highly desirable. While the daily rate may be lower than comparable private sector opportunities, this 3-month contract offers the chance for an immediate short-term project to leave a lasting legacy by shaping the charity's future data and insight capability at a strategic level, with work that will have genuine social impact across the UK emergency services community.
This is a highly visible transformation assignment suited to a senior consultant-level professional who can assess the organisation's current data maturity, identify risks and inefficiencies, and provide a practical roadmap for improving reporting, integration, governance, and insight capability. The successful contractor will work closely with leadership teams and internal stakeholders to evaluate how data is currently captured, stored, analysed, and reported across the organisation. The outcome of this engagement will provide the foundation for the internal Head of Insight and Data teams to build upon following completion of the contract.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Current State Review
- Review existing systems, datasets, and reporting processes
- Assess how organisational data is currently structured and managed
- Evaluate methods of data capture, storage, sharing, and analysis
- Identify duplication, inefficiencies, gaps, and operational risks
Data Audit & Governance
- Conduct a full audit across key data systems and reporting platforms
- Assess data quality, ownership, consistency, and governance maturity
- Review GDPR compliance risks and broader data governance exposure
- Highlight immediate, medium-term, and long-term data risks
Data Harmonisation & Integration Strategy
- Recommend improvements for system and dataset integration
- Define standards for data harmonisation and consistency
- Design a future-state architecture for integrated reporting and insight
- Advise on scalable and sustainable data management practices
Performance Management & Reporting
- Recommend frameworks for joined-up performance reporting
- Support development of impact measurement methodologies
- Advise on management information dashboards and reporting structures
- Enable evidence-based decision-making through improved data visibility
Roadmap & Handover
- Produce a phased implementation roadmap with clear priorities
- Deliver strategic recommendations for future capability development
- Define future operating models for insight and analytics functions
- Provide a structured handover to internal leadership teams
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience conducting strategic data and systems reviews
- Strong understanding of enterprise data governance and GDPR
- Experience designing future-state data architectures
- Expertise in systems integration and data harmonisation
- Ability to engage senior stakeholders and produce strategic recommendations
- Experience building implementation roadmaps and operating models
- Strong understanding of performance reporting and management information frameworks
