Position: Electrical Project Manager
Location: London, UK
Contract Duration: 6 Months+
Sector: Data Centres / Mission-Critical Infrastructure
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager for a major Data Centre infrastructure programme based in London. This contract opportunity involves managing the full lifecycle of electrical packages across a high spec mission-critical environment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing large scale electrical installations and interfacing with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders across fast paced projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and manage project delivery plans, performance metrics, and quality controls to ensure alignment with client requirements and compliance standards.
- Maintain regular communication with client stakeholders to ensure trust, transparency and alignment of expectations throughout the project.
- Coordinate and administer technical documentation, including quality plans, installed drawings and O&M manuals.
- Ensure robust health & safety and quality protocols are followed, promoting a “Right First Time” and zero-harm culture on site.
- Lead on KPI tracking, weekly client updates, and risk/issue management across workstreams.
- Work closely with commercial teams to manage procurement, variations, payment certificates and contractual documentation.
- Oversee planning and resourcing of internal teams, sub-contractors, and material logistics to meet project milestones.
- Collaborate with planning teams to maintain and update detailed project schedules.
- Manage commissioning support and coordination for electrical and MEP systems including: UPS, STS, EPMS, BMS, generators, busbar systems, PDUs, etc.
- Understand and implement safe work protocols in live operational environments (e.g., COHE, LOTO procedures, permitting, and RAMS).
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing complex electrical or MEP installation projects within data centre, life sciences, or similarly high spec environments.
- Trade qualification and/or degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or Construction Management.
- Strong understanding of technical systems, electrical commissioning and integrated infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Design & Build delivery and experience in both pre-construction and delivery phases.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large site teams and interface effectively with commercial, planning, and safety teams.
- Strong IT literacy including project reporting tools and planning software.
- Knowledge of UK H&S regulations and construction best practices.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem solving skills.
