Position : Electrical Engineer: Data Center Projects

My client, based in London seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support critical field engineering activities within their data centre operations. This assignment offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple facilities, driving technical oversight during key phases of delivery, operations, and expansion.
Contract Overview
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will act as a key point of engineering support from initial concept through commissioning, troubleshooting, and lifecycle improvements across regional data centre facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct design and equipment reviews during the pre-construction and installation phases.
- Support field operations with electrical expertise during live commissioning and testing phases.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and implement corrective actions (CA) for system failures.
- Contribute to capacity planning, power system upgrades, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Perform site engineering audits, including in-person technical assessments, and report generation.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, operations, and health & safety teams to ensure project continuity and operational consistency.
- Provide ad hoc support including procedural reviews, documentation updates, and on-site troubleshooting.
- Act as a technical representative during site construction and commissioning handovers.
Ideal Profile
- Degree or qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Significant experience in data centre environments or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of low and medium-voltage systems, power distribution, and critical backup systems.
- Previous involvement in commissioning, field service, or construction engineering roles.
- Ability to work across multiple sites and manage concurrent priorities.
- Skilled in fault diagnostics, technical reporting, and continuous improvement practices.
