- Design and optimise high-density compute infrastructure utilising advanced CPU and GPU technologies.
- Drive architecture decisions across processors, memory subsystems, high-speed interconnects, storage, and Linux-based HPC environments.
- Lead HPC performance benchmarking, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimisation initiatives.
- Develop technical roadmaps, architecture standards, and strategies for scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient computing platforms.
- Lead, mentor, and develop HPC engineering teams, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, vendors, and stakeholders across globally distributed teams.
- Manage technical risks, cross-functional initiatives, and delivery priorities while aligning architecture decisions with business objectives.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM discipline.
- 8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and scaling large-scale HPC compute and storage architectures in production environments.
- 3+ years of experience leading or managing HPC engineering teams, including mentoring, coaching, and technical direction.
- Strong expertise in CPU and GPU architecture, high-density computing, next-generation processors, and memory subsystems.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux operating systems and the broader HPC ecosystem.
- Experience with HPC benchmarking, performance monitoring, and system optimisation tools.
- Strong understanding of HPC infrastructure architecture, scalability, reliability, and cost optimisation.
- Proven stakeholder management, technical decision-making, and cross-functional project leadership skills.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives involving global teams, technology vendors, and multiple stakeholders.
- High-performance networking and interconnect technologies, including InfiniBand and high-speed Ethernet.
- Parallel and distributed storage technologies such as Lustre, Ceph, and BeeGFS.
- Cloud-native, hybrid HPC, and emerging compute infrastructure technologies.
- Building and scaling engineering teams, introducing technical standards, and improving operational processes.
- Communicating complex architecture decisions and technical trade-offs to senior leadership.
