The IMS Core Engineer will be responsible for defining and executing comprehensive test strategies, validating client and application integrations, and ensuring the delivery of robust and high‑quality IMS solutions. This role plays a critical part in supporting next‑generation 4G/5G core services for a global telecommunications technology provider.
As an IMS Core Engineer, you will collaborate with R&D teams, customers, and third‑party vendors to perform end‑to‑end testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities across IMS platforms. You will define test plans, support solution integration, and diagnose complex issues across voice and data core systems. This role requires deep technical insight into IMS architecture, VoLTE/VoNR behaviour, SIP/DIAMETER signalling, and 4G/5G core network functions. You will be instrumental in ensuring high‑quality releases and supporting customer acceptance phases.
Key Responsibilities- Define and execute detailed test strategies for IMS platforms and core network solutions.
- Perform end‑to‑end testing, validation, and troubleshooting of IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, VoNR).
- Support customer and application testing, ensuring alignment with solution requirements.
- Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to analyze defects and recommend fixes.
- Work with customer teams and third‑party vendors on integration and acceptance activities.
- Validate SIP/DIAMETER signalling flows and troubleshoot protocol‑level issues.
- Contribute to solution improvements through feedback, documentation, and test automation.
- Strong expertise in IMS technologies, architecture, and components.
- Solid experience in end‑to‑end testing, validation, and troubleshooting of IMS/VoLTE/VoNR services.
- Deep understanding of 4G EPC / 5G Core network elements and call flows.
- Proficiency with SIP, DIAMETER, and related protocol analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark).
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work across multifunctional teams.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
- Eligibility for SC Clearance: 5 years continuous residency in the UK.
- Must have valid right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).
- Experience with 5G SA/NSA core validation.
- Background in test automation frameworks.
- Hands‑on exposure to vendor environments (e.g., Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei).
- Knowledge of cloud‑native core deployments (Kubernetes, Docker).
