First People Solutions is currently working with a highly successful consulting engineer who has grown from a small UK business to a major international player, operating in key sectors including the built environment, energy, mining, technology, government and infrastructure. You will join their Civil and Structural Engineering team, taking on a lead designer/checker role across a range of small to large-scale projects. The role involves contributing to proposal development, managing client expectations, and mentoring junior members within the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead designer/checker on small to large-scale projects within the Civil and Structural Engineering team.
- Contribute to proposal development and management of client expectations.
- Mentor junior team members.
What we’re looking for (Qualifications)
- Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
- Chartered status preferred or close to (IStructE / ICE).
- 5+ years of experience delivering structural design projects within a UK design engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge in key materials such as timber, steel, concrete, and masonry.
- Confident in managing a team and projects.
- Site inspection, structural assessment and report experience.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
