Principal Civil Structural Engineer Civils / Rail – Glasgow First People Solutions is working with a leading consulting engineer in Glasgow who are looking to add a skilled Principal / Associate Engineer to their team. Our client is seeking a Chartered Engineer with experience in rail and general civil/structural engineering. The successful candidate will act as the technical lead on a variety of projects, primarily in rail engineering, helping to grow the Glasgow office and expand business. Key Responsibilities Lead the technical design of civil and structural engineering projects, including calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports across all project phases. Produce high-quality technical reports and ensure consistent quality Support leadership colleagues, mentor junior staff, and liaise with clients, contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders. Contribute to project management and planning activities. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Chartered Engineer status (MICE or MIStructE). 8-12 years of experience working within a design engineering environment in the UK Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience developing designs in line with DMRB and Network Rail Standards, as well as familiarity with standard forms of contract and drafting contract documentation. What\’s in it for You?
