First People Solutions is working with a leading multidisciplinary consulting engineer, recognised for its focus on sustainable urban infrastructure and innovative design. Due to growth, they are seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join their team. This is a key leadership role, suited to an experienced engineer with a broad sector background and a strong track record in project delivery, client management, and technical design. You will play an important part in both project execution and the wider growth strategy of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor engineering teams across all stages of project delivery
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for repeat business
  • Support and develop junior team members, including identifying training needs

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 6-12 years' experience within a UK engineering design consultancy environment
  • Chartered (CEng) or Incorporated (IEng) status preferred
  • Proficiency in InfoDrainage, Causeway Flow, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD
  • Strong client-facing and project leadership skills
