As a Principal Structural Engineer, you'll provide leadership across multiple projects, guiding design teams, supporting project delivery and acting as a trusted technical expert throughout the project lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of structural engineering solutions, balancing technical excellence with programme, budget and client requirements. Key duties will include:

  • Providing technical leadership across a range of complex engineering projects
  • Managing and mentoring structural engineers at varying levels of experience
  • Reviewing and approving design information to ensure quality and compliance
  • Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders
  • Supporting project planning, resource allocation and commercial performance
  • Identifying project risks and developing practical engineering solutions
  • Contributing to bids, proposals and business development activities

What We're Looking For

  • Chartered engineer (MIStructE or MICE)
  • Demonstrable experience leading structural engineering teams and delivering complex projects
  • Strong understanding of structural analysis, design principles and UK engineering standards
  • Experience across a variety of structural forms and materials
  • Ability to manage technical delivery while maintaining commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary project environments
  • Knowledge of current health, safety and CDM requirements
