Geotechnical Engineer Edinburgh First People Solutions is recruiting for a Geotechnical Engineer to join one of the largest and most experienced multi-disciplinary consulting engineer in the UK, offering civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering, transport planning, development and water/environmental services. With a long history and strong network, they provide innovative and sustainable solutions for a range of complex projects for a range of private and public sector projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a range of geotechnical projects, contributing to a dynamic and forward-thinking team, and playing a key role in their continued success. Job: Prepare and check design calculations and specifications for geotechnical works such as bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, and earthworks Conduct feasibility studies, ground investigations and design Assist in the delivery of the design of geotechnical elements of existing and future projects What we need from you: Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Earth Science or equivalent 3-5 years of experience working within a design engineering consultancy in the UK Working towards chartered status Knowledge of geotechnical principles and standards Experience of modelling software such as Holebase, Slide, Settle 3D, and Wallap Full UK driving licence What\’s in it for you?
