First People Solutions is recruiting for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join one of the largest and most experienced multi-disciplinary consulting engineers in the UK. With a long history and strong network, they provide innovative and sustainable solutions for a range of complex projects in various sectors.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a range of geotechnical projects spanning the energy, transportation, industrial, retail, residential and commercial sectors. You'll be contributing to a dynamic and forward-thinking team and playing a key role in their continued success.

Job
  • Prepare and check design calculations and specifications for geotechnical works such as pile design, slope stability assessment, bearing capacity, settlement, and earthworks
  • Plan and oversee feasibility studies and ground investigations from site for a wide range of schemes
  • Assist directors / managers with bid preparation and business development
  • Mentor junior engineers and review their technical work
What we're looking for
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology or equivalent
  • Chartered status prepared or close to (CEng, CGeol)
  • 5-10 years of experience working within a design engineering consultancy in the UK
  • Knowledge of geotechnical principles and standards
  • Experience of modelling software such as Holebase, Slide, Settle 3D, and Wallap
  • Full UK driving licence
