Your New Salary: £55k + discretionary bonus

Location: Central London, 5 days a week in office for 6 months, then hybrid 3 days in office

Job status: Permanent

Start date: ASAP

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8 hour shift between 8am to 6pm (35h p/week)

Who You'll Be Working for: Global raw materials trader.

What You'll be Doing Each Day:

New business development is embedded in this company’s 5-year growth plan. They enjoy a well-established range of core business activities focused upon packaging and food. An opportunity has arisen within the Trading Division to add to their existing customer base by leveraging their purchasing strength in selected products. They target FMCG manufacturers and ingredient distributors. This recruitment seeks to increase their sales revenue across all core activities, whether through established customers or by developing new accounts. The role will not be restricted to food raw materials activities, but sales of dairy/supplements, pulses, oils, fruits, grains, nuts, and various technical grade semi-finished food substrates will form a significant element of the overall workload.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales and marketing: build our customer base and trading volumes.
  • Work alongside the company’s overseas network to build robust enduring customer relationships to sustain year-on-year sales growth.
  • Extensive overseas travel. 30-40 days on the road a year.
  • Active participation in ongoing marketing and brand building.

To be successful in this role our client has said it is essential that candidates:

  • Have a visa to work in the UK for more than two years.
  • Have an affinity with the food manufacturing industry and with current market trends.
  • Have a sales/marketing or procurement background with food ideally.
  • Have an understanding of trading or trade experience.
  • Be prepared for regular travel to both suppliers and customers.
  • Possess cultural empathy.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and persistence.
  • Be reliable and flexible - a genuine team player.
  • Be results-focused.
