The RMB Clearing Assistant role focuses on RMB clearing bank and CIPS related regulatory reporting, business data analysis, system enhancements, project management, and stakeholder coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for RMB clearing bank and CIPS related regulatory reporting within required timelines.
  • Responsible for business data analysis and reporting, proactively driving change to improve data quality and raising data requirements and issues with related parties.
  • Collect RMB related business needs into actionable system or process enhancement requirements and work with relevant teams to deliver solutions.
  • Assist with managing the project progress; work with relevant teams to complete the full project cycle, including writing business requirements, communication with regulatory and HO, project testing, system implementation and post go-live monitoring.
  • Assist with managing the RMB clearing bank working group across the bank and implementing KPIs related to RMB clearing, responsible for meeting arrangements and minutes.
  • Assist with monitoring and managing RMB clearing bank and CIPS operational incidents.
  • Assist with preparing and managing questionnaires and survey responses for HO, CIPS and regulators.
  • Assist with implementing the risk and control requirements related to RMB clearing business and CIPS.
  • Assist in RMB clearing and CIPS related projects and service development.
  • Assist with facilitation of stakeholder discussions across various teams and departments.
  • Monitor team mailbox, facilitate document circulation, and ensure efficient handling of documents/events related to the team’s business, and provide support for administrative tasks within the team.
  • Undertake additional duties as delegated by line manager/DHOD/HOD as required.
  • Perform ad hoc administration duties as required.
  • Cover other team members’ duties during absence as required.
  • Ensure that all activities meet the bank’s internal policies, procedures and other regulatory and mandatory requirements at all times.

Qualifications

  • Fluent Mandarin written and verbal to a native level.
  • Relevant level of payments experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting).
  • Operations experience.
  • Commercial awareness: knowledge of banking products and associated risks.
  • Awareness of relevant legislations such as Consumer Duty, FCA and PRA Regulations.
  • Awareness of risk and controls – relevant 3LoD knowledge.
  • Awareness of sanctions policies.
  • Experience in building, testing, and implementing systems and project management.
  • Experience in multi-currency international payments.
  • Experience in SWIFT and CIPS payment messages both MT and MX (ISO20022).
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, detail oriented.
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Able to work through issues, strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with both IT and non-IT audiences.
  • Problem solver, someone who can use initiative to independently resolve queries.
  • Capable of working in a highly productive and fast-paced environment, while delivering high quality work.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritise, results focused.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Good communication skills with HO.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and motivated.
  • Flexible with work hours when necessary.
