Due to very high demand, we are actively recruiting Support Workers to cover shifts set in homeless hostels, Hubs and supported living projects in the Hampshire Area; including but not limited to Fareham and Gosport. We are looking for people who preferably have experience in supporting homeless adults and post-16 young people, or within a similar career background managing challenging behaviours. Substance misuse experience would be ideal but not essential.
Our client is able to offer Day shifts 9.30-16.30 Mon-Fri and a minimum of 1 in every 4 Saturdays. This role involves supporting vulnerable adults across various locations in each shift and therefore any applicants must hold a full UK driving license and their own vehicle (mileage can be claimed between locations).
Applying Support Workers will ideally possess the skills and mindset capable of working with vulnerable people who have had to face a number of traumatic issues which has led them to where they are. Support Workers will be emotionally resilient, patient, empathetic and understand the need for consistency in their approach and communication skills. The ability to create and maintain safe working boundaries between yourself and the people you will be supporting is of paramount importance. These are people who can at times, display behaviours that are challenging and unpredictable.
