Core Hours: Mon-Fri 8am to 4.30pm. Expected flexibility to cover shift engineers on leave/sick. Up to £45,000 basic salary plus overtime/time off in lieu.
Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a strong multiskilled background looking for a fresh challenge, autonomy, and genuinely wanting to drive improvements? Based in Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh, we are looking for a permanent and proactive engineer to help maintain and improve a food manufacturing facility, keeping production assets in great working order and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
You will be joining a close-knit Engineering team, working on breakdowns, yet importantly carrying out planned maintenance, reducing downtime and really being a strategic and thinking engineer. With ample years of maintenance experience under your belt, you'll be confident across a broad range of mechanical and electrical systems including pneumatics, motor drives, some welding, and used to various breakdown scenarios. The role is multiskilled, but a mechanical bias may slightly favour the team dynamics, yet ultimately a well-skilled and confident maintenance professional able to work well in a fast-paced environment is what we seek!
What do I need?
- Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance Engineering competency and confidence
- FMCG experience working under pressure, to demanding timelines
- Flexible approach to shift cover when required for holiday or sick cover
- Good understanding of pneumatics, fitting, welding, and fault finding
- Comfortable with IT systems and CMMS
- Thrives in a team environment but also able to provide some leadership when required
- Current right to work in the UK and ability to commute to Eastleigh
