Package Overview
- Shifts: Wednesday 07:00-16:00 & Sunday 07:00-15:00 (additional shifts may be available for cover during leave/sickness)
About the Service User
You will support a young female with complex medical needs. Care is delivered 1:1, and responsibilities include escorting her in a taxi to school while carrying essential care equipment.
Key clinical requirements include:
- Tracheostomy tube (essential)
- Ventilated via ASTRAL 150
- Cough assist
- Oxygen therapy
- Hoisting / wheelchair-dependent
- PEG feeding
Required Skills & Experience
We are looking for an experienced HCA / Carer with a background in paediatric complex care, including:
- Tracheostomy care (essential)
- Suctioning
- Non-invasive ventilation (BIPAP / ventilators)
- Cough assist and oxygen management
- Enteral feeding (PEG)
- Hoisting and personal care
- Experience working 1:1 with children with complex medical needs
Duties & Responsibilities
- Using and managing complex care equipment and procedures safely
- Supporting the child outside of the home (e.g., school, medical appointments)
- Delivering care in the home and building rapport with the child and family
- Following care plans closely and escalating changes or concerns promptly
