Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Workshop Supervisor on behalf of one of our clients. To ensure the assigned work is completed in a timely manner, this includes assigning and explaining daily tasks to the workshop engineers, monitoring work progress and compliance with policies and procedures, training, mentoring and assisting workshop engineers and junior engineers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Undertakes and oversees repairs of electric motors, pumps and gearboxes.
- The cost-effective deployment of resources (labour and material) to achieve plan.
- Reacting to situations as they arise to achieve the company’s objectives.
- Supervising team members, managing discipline, attitude, appearance, time keeping, absence and the like.
- Supervising a team of Engineers and learners of all levels and provide structured mentoring in collaboration with the Group Compliance Manager and Branch Manager.
- Providing support and guidance to all employees while setting the standards for others to adopt.
- Workshop maintenance.
- Plan workflow in order to meet customer requirements as directed by the workshop manager and workshop foreman.
- Embraces H&S and the importance of a good H&S environment.
- Be available for call out shift or overtime as directed by the Branch Manager.
- Perform any other duties within your capabilities as directed by the Workshop Manager or the Branch Manager.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience within electrical motors, pumps and gearboxes.
- Computer skills required to basic level.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and PPE.
- Team player.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to work outside of normal working hours.
- Good time keeping skills are essential.
