:

First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic International Defence business who are looking to recruit a Training Standards Controller on a permanent basis due to growth based at their Faslane depot.

This role focuses on overseeing training quality, internal validation, and compliance with defence and industry standards (BR8420, JSP822, ISO 9001).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Training Quality Control: Conduct Internal Validation processes in order to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of training, measure course success and identify course weaknesses. Verify the validity, integrity and reliability of all assessment banks.
  • Training Delivery Standards: Acting as the Defence Training Supervisor, support the provision of trainer qualification, coaching, mentoring and development to all staff involved in training delivery.
  • Training Design Standards: In liaison with the Training Design Team Lead, conduct routine Quality Control (QC) reviews of all training documentation in support of the Astute Class Training Service (ACTS) contract.
  • Quality Assurance: Manage and conduct internal training audits in order to assure compliance with the ACTS Training Quality Management System and all contractual quality requirements (BR8420, JSP822, ISO 9001 etc). Track, analyse and manage corrective and preventative action plans.
  • Reporting and Communication: Manage customer and stakeholder meetings in support of the continuous improvement of the training service. Provide Quality Control and Assurance management information as required. Liaise with colleagues to ensure sharing of best practice and development of shared practice in quality systems.
  • Provide support to wider Marine Training contract as required.
  • To ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.

  • Skills and Qualifications:

  • Military Training Management
  • Previous exposure to a BR8420/ JSP 822 Quality System.
  • Direct experience and proven competence in the design delivery of training courses of a technical nature to BR8420QS/ JSP 822.
  • Proven experience and detailed knowledge of training related quality processes.
  • Detailed knowledge and practical experience of quality systems and their application in a training environment.
  • Internal Validation course or equivalent.
  • Defence Training Supervisor course or equivalent
  • First Party Audit course or equivalent
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor

    Location: Faslane, Scotland
    Salary: £42,000 – £52,000 dependant on experience and qualifications
    Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
