Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel, however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on reactors and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal disruption.
- Assist with exhaust filter and system maintenance, as well as gas cylinder changes.
- Maintain a high level of physical fitness to carry breathing apparatus and pass a lung function test.
- Conduct electrical Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) – training provided.
- Manage the control, handling, and disposal of chemicals, gases, and spare parts, including chemical fills and deliveries.
- Prepare for preventive maintenance tasks and system cleaning.
- Assist in diagnosing and repairing processing and ancillary equipment.
- Support engineers with project work and take ownership of assigned projects where qualified.
- Work independently on a variety of tasks following documented procedures, with minimal supervision.
- Assist with logistical operations, including equipment relocation, cleanroom reorganization, and parts shipping.
- Foster a collaborative work environment and promote teamwork across departments.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while thriving in a team environment.
- Mechanical maintenance engineering experience.
- Basic electrical knowledge of both systems and safety.
- Willingness to work overtime during shutdowns or major maintenance periods.
- Physically fit.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong communication skills, with proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Computer literate, with experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
