Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently supporting one of our established companies specialising in designing and installing bespoke radio solutions in their search for an Installation Technician to cover London and Surrounding Areas. This role is ideal for someone with strong practical skills in cable installation, looking to gain further experience in radio communication systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install radiating and feeder coaxial cable, to layout drawings and site plans
- Mount and secure passive components (splitters, couplers, terminations, etc.)
- Perform cable terminations, VSWR tests, and continuity checks using RF test equipment under supervision
- Assist with the installation of RF repeaters, amplifiers, and power supplies
- Document installation progress with photos and site notes
- Follow detailed method statements and risk assessments to maintain safety and quality
- Liaise with site supervisors and engineers to ensure compliance with project specifications
- Assist in troubleshooting faults during installation and testing
- Maintain tools, equipment, and stock inventory for site tasks
Skills and Qualifications:
- Comfortable using hand tools, drills, cable cutters, and strippers
- Willingness to work in confined spaces or elevated areas, as required by the site
- Manual driving licence
- Valid CSCS/ECS or equivalent site access certification
- Basic knowledge of RF principles (Desirable, not mandatory)
- Understanding of safe cable routing, containment systems, and labelling standards (Desirable, not mandatory)
- Previous experience in cabling, or low-voltage system installation (Desirable, not mandatory)
