Salary: Β£27,000 - Β£34,000 per annum DOE

Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Import Clerk on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handling incoming calls and customer enquiries.
  • Preparing accurate job quotations.
  • Processing operational Import shipments.
  • Liaising with carriers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Costing jobs and invoicing.
  • Occasionally assisting with warehouse duties if required.
  • Managing your own desk efficiently and maintaining accurate records.
  • Monday to Friday 0900 – 1800 (1 hour lunch break).
  • After probation, 1 weekend in 3 to cover time sensitive shipments, paid at weekend rates.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in imports air, road & ocean and customs operations is preferred.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and as part of a team.
  • IT literate.
  • Our client will provide comprehensive training and certification for the right candidate to ensure you are fully equipped to manage and process shipments.

Benefits:

  • Salary dependent on age and experience.
  • 3-month probation period.
  • 20 days annual leave + 8.
