Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently supporting a client in the search for a Plant Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant repair and maintenance, as well as the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of mechanical problems. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team and have the ability to troubleshoot complex issues quickly and accurately. A welding qualification is preferred. Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical problems on diesel powered plant and vehicles.
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing.
- Complete weld repairs.
- Test parts and systems to ensure they are working properly.
- Use diagnostic tools.
- Explain mechanical problems and needed repairs to customers in a clear and concise manner.
- Keep records of work performed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant experience and qualifications e.g., City and Guild, NVQ Level 3 qualifications or equivalent to or greater than.
- Experience in construction plant.
