Overview:
First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client, a leading global logistics and freight forwarding business. They specialise in air, ocean and road freight forwarding, supply chain management, and tailored logistics solutions for industries including retail, manufacturing and chemicals.
They are seeking an Ocean Export Operator to join their dedicated Ocean Freight team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the smooth movement of goods by sea on behalf of clients, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and exceptional customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and build strong relationships with customers, delivering a high standard of customer service.
- Ensure all ocean freight shipments are moved on time with the correct documentation.
- Arrange haulage and bookings with shipping lines.
- Check and process invoices, ensuring accuracy prior to dispatch.
- Ensure all relevant shipping documents are on hand as required.
- Respond to customer and supplier queries quickly and effectively.
- Liaise clearly with overseas agents, suppliers, and customers.
- Use customer ERP and SAP systems as required.
- Take ownership of personal training and development to continuously improve skills.
